The majority of our workforce consists of volunteers.

PATIENT CARE: NON-MEDICAL POSITIONS
Requirements:
• No formal degree or experience required
• Submission of application and references
• Successful completion of 27-hour ComfortCare training and additional on-the-job training
Time Commitment:
3 hours per week, or every other week
Available Positions:
Patient Advocate
• Counsel women on issues of crisis pregnancy, relationships, and spirituality
• Perform follow-up as needed
Receptionist
• Greet patients
• Process appropriate paperwork
 PATIENT CARE: MEDICAL POSITIONS
Requirements:
• Must be an MD or RN with Virginia state licensure
Time Commitment:
3 hours per week, or every other week
Available Positions:
Medical Staff

• Conduct pregnancy testing
• Perform limited ultrasounds (training provided)
• Obtain medical history of clients and give healthy pregnancy information as needed
NON-PATIENT POSITIONS

Possible Positions:
Office Assistant
• Includes a variety of tasks from data entry to stuffing envelopes
• Can be on an “as-needed” basis or as much as 3 hours per week
Requirements: ComfortCare orientation

Prayer Partner
• Recruit core group of intercessors.
• Create and oversee prayer network
• Facilitate corporate meetings and on-site prayer for special events
Requirements: 8 hours per week for managerial and prayer duties

MEN! Here’s how you can serve…
• Be a prayer intercessor
• Become a board member
• Help with building maintenance
• Counsel men or couples
• Assist post-abortive men through H.E.A.R.T. (Healing Emotions and Renewing the Heart)
• Be a mentor – befriend a young father or boyfriend of one of our patients
• Become a KISSN team member
SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS
• Stride Team member or data entry help afterwards
• Banquet Team member or data entry help afterwards
• Baby Bottle Coordinator or counting helper
• Dessert team member (Rockbridge County) or post-dessert help
• Lawn care or snow removal help
• Speaking in churches or to other groups about ComfortCare
• Specialty volunteers: photographers, marketing partners, florists, maintenance assistants, community liaisons, and more!
SPECIAL SKILLS VOLUNTEERS
• Photographers: Take photos at our special events, staff photos, or patient pictures
• Marketing Partners: bloggers, social media
• Florists: Create flower arrangements for our special events
• Maintenance Assistants: make repairs and/or improvements at our facility as needed
• Community Liaisons: represent ComfortCare at fairs and/or find opportunities for community events
