November 28th is #GivingTuesday, a global movement inspiring people around the world to give to local causes they believe in. We’d like to give you an opportunity to help us reach even more women in our area who desparately need the critical life-saving services ComfortCare provides.
Consider this timeline*:
Day 0: A woman suspects she’s pregnant
Day 0-4: She has her pregnancy confirmed
Day 4: She considers her options & decides to carry the baby or have an abortion
Day 4-6: She obtains information on abortion services if that’s what she’s decided
Day 6-12: She has the abortion
As you can see, there is a very short window of opportunity to reach a woman during the critical thought processing time as she considers how to handle an unexpected pregnancy. Add in the fact that she may not have a steady income, insurance, or support, and you’ve got the recipe for a tragic outcome.
So how can we reach these women during this critical time?
Of the 220 women who have filled out our patient survey thus far in 2017, 21 women said they received our contact info from a friend and 114 women found our contact info online. Let’s face it, we live in a digital age and women are increasingly finding out about ComfortCare through their smartphone, tablet, or computer.
How can we be SURE these women will find ComfortCare online?
The best way to get our information in front of these women is through Google AdWords and Facebook ads. These are both effective, but they are not cheap. In 2018, we hope to increase our Google AdWords budget to $1,000 per month to reach women in Staunton, Waynesboro, Lexington, and the surrounding areas, plus an additional $100/month to reach women on social media through Facebook and Instagram ads.
That may seem like a lot of money, but it’s only a tiny fraction of the $29.2 million Planned Parenthood spends to reach out to these same women. This is what we’re up against.
We cannot offer hope and healing if women don’t even know we exist. Online advertising is critical to this ministry.

Our goal on #GivingTuesday, November 28th, is to raise $3,000 in one day. Any amount you feel led to give will be applied toward this total and we’ll be able to immediately increase our online presence.
